10 Family Valentine’s Day Ideas

Looking for some fun Valentine’s Day activities to do as a family? Look no further! Make it a party, invite your family, extended relatives, neighbors or friends if you would like. Choose one or more of these to celebrate with your loved ones!

1. Family Movie Night

Pick a few family friendly movies, make some popcorn, and enjoy a cozy night in snuggling your loved ones. Here are some ideas:

  • Lady and the Tramp
  • Tangled
  • The Princess Bride
  • Shrek
  • Cinderella
  • Up
  • Pride and Prejudice
  • Little Women
  • The Sound of Music

2. DIY Valentine’s Day Cards

3. Cook Together

Plan a special Valentine’s Day dinner and involve everyone in the preparation. It’s a great way to bond and enjoy a delicious meal. Young kids can set the table. Get a cheap Valentine’s themed tablecloth from the dollar store and Valentine’s themed paper cups and plates if you’d like!

4. Family Game Night

Play board games, card games, or dice games that the whole family can enjoy. Make it extra festive with heart-themed games or prizes.

5. Outdoor Adventure

Take a family hike, bike ride, or walk in a nearby park. Enjoy the fresh air and each other’s company. If where you live the weather is tolerable you could even do a picnic. If not, maybe pack some hot chocolate to enjoy.

6. Valentine’s Day Brunch

Start the day with a special family brunch. Let everyone contribute to the menu or share their favorite breakfast dishes. A fun idea is to make heart shaped pancakes. Here is a lot more great ideas!

7. Memory Lane

Spend time looking through old family photos or videos. Reminisce about happy moments and share stories.

8. DIY Decorations

Create Valentine’s Day decorations together. From heart garlands to homemade banners, let creativity flow.

9. Family Book Club

Choose a family friendly book and read it together. Discuss the story and characters over a cup of hot chocolate. Share your love story of how you met and when you found out you were pregnant with each of your kids. Tell them about how it was love at first sight when they were born, and even before they were born!

Don’t forget to share with them the greatest love gift ever given, from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

10. Acts of Kindness

Encourage each other with acts of kindness. Make cards for one another with coupons like “no chore day” or “foot rub”, etc. Go around the room and tell each person something you love about them. Express the importance of loving each other and being kind to one another. The family unit, the family team, is one of the most important relationship spheres on earth!
